Welcome to Close to Him Ministry’s Daily Spiritual Food. Today’s spiritual food is taken from;
John 4:35 - “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!”
In today’s verse, Jesus uses this agricultural metaphor to illustrate the urgency and readiness of the spiritual harvest which is winning souls for God. The “fields” represent the world, and the “harvest” signifies the souls ready to receive the gospel. While the disciples might have thought there was still time before the harvest, Jesus points out that the time for action is now.
This verse calls us to be vigilant and proactive in sharing the gospel, understanding that there are always people ready to hear and respond to the message of salvation. We are encouraged to be diligent workers in God’s field, recognizing the opportunity and responsibility we have to bring others to Christ.
Today, please reflect on the opportunities around you for sharing the Gospel. The harvest could be that friend of yours, your colleague at work or school, your customer, the passengers that board your vehicle, your family members, and the people you meet on the street. Actively seek to participate in the harvest by engaging in evangelism and outreach efforts.
