Welcome to Close to Him Ministry's Daily Spiritual Food. Today's spiritual food is taken from;

John 5:17- "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working."
In today's spiritual food, Jesus makes a profound statement after the Jews accused Jesus of breaking the Sabbath because He healed a man on that day. Jesus' response reveals the continuous nature of God's work.
The Father has been working since the beginning of creation, orchestrating His plan of redemption. He never ceases to care for His creation, ensuring that everything works according to His purpose. This work includes sustaining life, providing for His creation, and leading humanity to salvation.
Jesus' statement also shows His unity with the Father in purpose and action. Jesus makes a bold statement, equating His work with the Father's. This reflects His divinity as God and mission as the Messiah. Just as the Father does not rest from His work of sustaining and saving, Jesus also works tirelessly for the redemption of mankind. His healing on the Sabbath was not an act of rebellion but a demonstration of God's ongoing grace.
God's work in the world never stops, and Jesus, being one with the Father, continues that work through His ministry of salvation. As believers, we should be comforted knowing that God is always working for our good, even when we don't see it. This verse also calls us to be workers in God's kingdom, reaching out to others with the gospel at all times. Let us join in God's work by living out our faith daily, spreading the gospel, and serving others, knowing that Jesus and the Father are continually at work for the salvation of the world.
