Welcome to Close to Him Ministry’s Daily Spiritual Food. Today’s spiritual food is taken from;

John 5:14 - “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”
In today’s verse, we learn that after healing the paralyzed man, Jesus finds him again in the temple and warns him against returning to sin. This statement underscores the connection between spiritual and physical well-being. While not all physical ailments are a result of sin, this verse reminds us that sin has serious consequences, often leading to spiritual death (separation from God), which is far worse than physical suffering.
For us, this serves as a cautionary note: once we have experienced God’s healing and forgiveness through baptism, we must strive to live a life of holiness, avoiding sin so that we do not fall into an even worse state. It’s a call to continual repentance and vigilance in our spiritual walk. Paul puts it this way in Romans 6:1-4 “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."
Once we get healed from our sins through baptism, we are urged to pursue righteousness and avoid returning to past transgressions. Reflect on your own life. Are there sins you need to leave behind? Embrace the new life Christ offers and strive to live in a manner that honors His healing work.
