John 3:16 (NKJV) "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
John 3:16 is one of the most well-known verses in the Bible. It encapsulates the gospel message: God's love for humanity is so profound that He gave His Son to die for our sins. Paul, the apostle, in writing to the Church at Rome, put it this way: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). When man sinned against God in the Garden of Eden, God could have just left us alone to struggle in the world. But God had compassion upon us and made a plan to send His only begotten Son to die for us.
This verse reassures us that God's love is available to all, but it also reminds us that we must respond to that love by believing in His Son, Jesus Christ, living according to His will so that we would not perish but have everlasting life. If you already believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He came to die for your sins and you have obeyed the Gospel, please extend the love God has showed to you to others Today, by telling them about Jesus Christ. If you haven't obeyed the Gospel yet, we encourage you to do so today so that the love God has shown to the world will be useful to you as well.
