Welcome to Close to Him Ministry's Daily Spiritual Food. Today's spiritual food is taken from;

John 3:14-15 - "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."
In Today's verse, Jesus draws a parallel between the bronze serpent Moses lifted in the wilderness in Numbers 21:9 and His own crucifixion. In the Numbers 21 account, the Israelites spoke against God and His servant Moses, and as a result, God sent fiery serpents to bite and kill most of them. When the people realized their sin, they returned to Moses for him to intercede for them, and the Lord asked Moses to make a bronze serpent and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten when he looks at it shall live. And so it was that those who obeyed and looked at the serpent were saved.
Just as the Israelites were healed by looking at the serpent, we are healed from the poison of sin and offered salvation by looking to Christ on the cross. This belief is not merely intellectual assent but an active, obedient faith. It is a faith that moves us to repentance, confession, baptism, and a faithful life committed to following Jesus Christ. We encourage you Today to reflect on the significance of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and renew your commitment to living in faith and obedience to God.
