Welcome to Close to Him Ministry's Daily Spiritual Food. Today's spiritual food is taken from;
John 3:5 - "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."
As we learned yesterday, Nicodemus was told to be born again in order to see the Kingdom of God. However, in verse 4 of John 3, Nicodemus did not understand what Jesus was talking about. Therefore, in verse 5, Jesus explains that being born again refers to being baptized (that's born of water and Spirit).
In order to be baptized, you must hear the Gospel or the word of God preached to you (Romans 10:17; John 12:48), believe it (John 5:24; Mark 15:16), repent of your sins (Luke 13:3,5; Acts 2:38), confess Jesus Christ as the Son of God (Acts 8:37), and finally be immersed in water (Acts 8:38-39). So, this verse reinforces the importance of baptism for salvation. It's not just a ritual but a divine command that unites us with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. If you haven't been baptized yet, we encourage you to take that step to be saved and be added to the Kingdom of God.
