Where would you spend eternity?

Life here on this planet is full of suffering and pain. We are surrounded by tears, wars, pestilence, persecution, and hunger. Sin is everywhere we look. What a sinful world we live in. You might be asking, “Are we going to live in this sinful world forever?” My dear brothers and sisters, the answer is CERTAINLY NOT.
This world is temporary, and it will pass away (2 Peter 3:10–13). We are just pilgrims or sojourners, and we are just passing through this world (Hebrews 11:13; 1 Peter 2:11). But after this life, two destinations await us. Unlike this earth, those destinations shall not pass away- they are for eternity. One is reserved for the righteous, and the other is reserved for the unrighteous. These places are HEAVEN AND HELL. These two places are not fictions or myths- they are real.
Now, let us consider these two eternal destinations. The Bible describes hell as a place of eternal torment (Matthew 25:46), a place with a lake of fire (Revelation 20:14–15), and a place where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 13:50). It is a place you do not want to spend eternity in. But sadly, that will be the destination of many souls after this life because of disobedience (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Romans 6:23).
On the other hand, the Bible describes heaven as a place of eternal joy and peace (Psalm 16:11). It is a place where there are no more tears, sorrow, pain, or sickness (Revelation 21:4), and a place where we will rest from our labors (Revelation 14:13). It is a place reserved for the obedient souls, and few will end up there (Matthew 7:13-14).
As I consider how sorrowful and sinful this world is, the sufferings I have been through in this world, and the glory up there, I have resolved to make it my ultimate goal to go to heaven. It is my prayer that nothing sways me from reaching this goal.
Now my question to you is this: where do you want to spend eternity? In heaven or in hell? The choice is yours, but I sincerely and strongly admonish you to make it your goal to make it to heaven. Let us examine our lives and ask ourselves, what can prevent me from reaching this goal? What makes me a disobedient child? Identify those things and let them go.
I INDEED WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN! And I will do whatever it takes to get there by the grace of God. Please join me on this journey as we strive daily to do His will, so that at the end of our lives, we may rejoice together in eternity.
Stay blessed,
Frank Obeng Addae
